According to a 2022 Ellen MacArthur Foundation report¹, the fashion industry is responsible for around 10 per cent of global carbon emissions and 20 per cent of global wastewater and an estimated 92 million tons of textile waste are generated each year, which is expected to increase by almost 60 per cent by 2030 if no action is taken. Consequently, the industry is not so fashionable for our environment. 

In 2020, 75 per cent of fashion companies polled by the Global Fashion Agenda, a non-profit organisation promoting sustainable fashion, had a recycling strategy, up from 45 per cent in 2017.
